Beneath the water

Meet Maniwaya’s marine life

Snorkel the reefs around the island and you may meet clownfish, sea stars, sea turtles and reef octopus. Look, but never touch: some reef creatures, such as the blue-ringed octopus, are venomous.

On the shore

Pick up shells on Maniwaya

Walk the clear shallows and white sand at low tide and you can pick up shells and sand dollars along Maniwaya’s shore. Keep only empty, sun-bleached ones and leave anything still living in the water.

In the trees

Birds among the leaves

Sea life is not the only wildlife on Maniwaya. Look up into the trees and you may spot songbirds bringing food to their young. Watch quietly from a distance and leave nests undisturbed.

Golden hour

Friends on the sand

Some of the best company on Maniwaya has four paws. As the day cools and the sky turns gold, you may find these happy souls out on the warm sand, tongues out and in no hurry at all.
